The Best of Everything (9-Oct-1959)
Director: Jean Negulesco Writers: Edith Sommer; Mann Rubin From novel: The Best of Everything by Rona Jaffe Music: Alfred Newman Producer: Jerry Wald Keywords: Romantic Drama Three women at a publishing firm in 1959 Manhattan seek romance and marriage, although it is the bitter Joan Crawford that steals the movie. The men in this movie, without exception, are truly awful people. Great outfits and sets, an abundance of Brylcream; worth watching for the time capsule experience alone, even though this is the sudsiest of soap operas. Received Oscar nominations for Best Costumes and Best Original Song (the title sung by Johnny Mathis).
