ABSTRACT
Charlie St. Cloud, a handsome young man and prodigious sailor, looks to make great strides towards his future after accepting a scholarship to Stanford University upon his graduation from high school. When younger brother Sam perishes in a car crash with Charlie behind the wheel, however, the ambitious young man withdraws from his existence, overcome with grief that ultimately finds him working as a caretaker at his brother's cemetery. Now five years removed from that tragic day, Charlie must choose between a promising romance offered by a new woman in his life and the continued servicing of his sibling's memory in the form of a promise once made to "play catch" with him every day until he left for Stanford.
