ABSTRACT
Mavis Gary, once a hot commodity in her high school days, struggles through a present-day existence as a thirty-seven-year old ghostwriter of a soon-to-be-cancelled young adult fiction series, alcoholic, and divorcee. Possessed by an inability to let go of her youth, Mavis takes an email featuring a picture of her since-married high school sweetheart's newborn baby as a sign that they are meant to be together, traveling back to her hometown of Mercury, Minnesota for an adventure filled with old friends from her past and a healthy dose of embarrassment at her expense.
