A former Mexican Federal embarks on a bloodthirsty quest for revenge against a man who had set him up and betrayed him.

ABSTRACT
Machete Cortez, a former Mexican Federal left destitute and living a nomadic life in Texas after having been betrayed by his corrupt chief three years earlier, is hired by an area businessman to assassinate Texas state senator John McLaughlin for $150,000. When it turns out that the supposed "murder plot" was actually a false flag operation to drum up support for McLaughlin's extremist border-security campaign, Machete turns the tables on the situation, evading an attempted capture by Booth's goons and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent as he sets out to exact revenge on his former superior.
