The Last Stand (12-Jan-2013)

Director: Jee-woon Kim Writers: Andrew Knauer; Jeffrey Nachmanoff; George Nolfi Keywords: Action/Thriller, Western, Explosions Action-adventure machismo romp follows a sheriff and his half-baked staff's attempt to prevent a dangerous leader of a drug cartel from penetrating Mexico's border with the United States.
ABSTRACT Erstwhile action hero-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Ray Owens, an embattled former LAPD officer who takes up a job as the sheriff of the fictional Sommerton Junction, Arizona after leaving his decidedly more glamorous post amid scandal. Believing to be perpetually resigned to a life of middling action, Owens' inclinations are proved entirely wrong when internationally-feared drug lord Gabriel Cortez escapes from FBI custody and charges towards Sommerton Junction at speeds of over two hundred miles per hour, taking Owens and his inexperienced, small-time staff to task as they are suddenly faced with the reality of being the last thing standing between Cortez and the Mexican-American border.
