Lord Jim (25-Feb-1965)
Director: Richard Brooks Writer: Richard Brooks From novel: Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad Music: Bronislau Kaper Keywords: Action/Adventure Jim, first officer of the tramp liner Patna, appears doomed in a hurricane and the entire crew abandons ship. But the ship does not sink, and the entire crew evades justice with the exception of Jim, who accepts his court martial. To redeem his act of cowardice he accepts a dangerous mission that takes him deep into the jungles of Malaysia. Epic adaptation of Conrad's novel (budget $10M) is much too long and suffers from excessive verbiage, imperfect performances.
