War correspondent Dick Ennis and seven soldiers are cut off behind enemy lines in the background of the Allied invasion at Anzio. Despite the title, this is not a film about the disastrous landing which killed 30,000 Allied soldiers. Instead, we get a mildly anti-war, fictional account which borders on tedium, backed with entirely inappropriate theme music.
