Bank robber Dad Longworth betrays his partner Rio, who is captured and incarcerated in a Mexican jail. Rio escapes and tracks down Longworth, now respected as sheriff of a California town. The only film directed by Marlon Brando, who took over when Stanley Kubrick was fired. It went massively over budget. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Cinematography.
