Lord of War (16-Sep-2005)

Director: Andrew Niccol

Writer: Andrew Niccol

Keywords: Thriller, Sniper

A Ukranian gun-runner wrestles with his moral compass as he works to elude an Interpol agent.

Nicolas Cage features in this Amnesty International-endorsed character piece examining the gritty life of Yuri Orlov, a fictionalized composite of several notorious post-Soviet arms dealers whose despicable trade in the unregulated days of excess following the collapse of an Eastern superpower would ultimately lead to inner turmoil and a confrontation with Interpol agents. Cage detractors will be pleasantly surprised by this film, playing to the connoisseur of big-budget fluff's oft-compromised strengths as an actor.
