ABSTRACT
British spy Andy Osnard, expelled to Panama after an illicit affair with a well-placed official's mistress, grows obsessed with ex-con-turned-tailor Harry Pendel on account of his ties to some of the South American republic's biggest and most powerful criminals and politicians. Andy's pursuit, designed to glean information about American plans for the Panama Canal, leads him down a road fraught with deceit and peril as Harry spins a tall tale of intrigue.
