Loose film adaptation of the children's book of the same name follows a hapless inventor's misadventures with a food-creating machine.

ABSTRACT
Flint Lockwood is the resident misunderstood genius of the god-forsaken remote island community of Swallow Falls, spending his days creating contraptions without any discernible purpose and drawing the ire of his permanently-exasperated father. A brush with economic depression brought about by the closure of the town's monolithic sardine factory forces Flint into action, resulting in the creation of the water-to-food "FLDSMDFR" (Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator) and further calamity when plans to turn the hard-up town into a "food tourism" destination are interrupted by the machine's malfunction and creation of a vicious food storm centered in a giant meatball.
