ABSTRACT Brian Taylor and Miguel Zavala, two best friends and partners in the Los Angeles Police Department being filmed in the course of their day-to-day job activities by the former for a film project, are handling crimes as they come and patrolling the mean streets when a public disturbance call one night draws Zavala into a racially-charged altercation with Bloods gangster Tre. One thing snowballs into another, and soon enough the pair of officers find themselves traversing down a rabbit hole of organized crime that ultimately puts them up against dangerously powerful elements of the Sinaloa drug cartel.
