ABSTRACT
Maria Enders, world-renowned middle-aged actress, is solicited to perform in a revival of Maloja Snake, the play that rocketed her to superstardom twenty years earlier; this time around, however, she is asked to take the role of Helena, an older woman driven to suicide by past role Sigrid. Maria stares mortality in its face as she prepares to appear opposite Jo-Ann Ellis, a would-be phenomenon in her own right looking to usurp her standing in the world of acting.
