Blanche Hudson is a former movie star, her career ended in a crippling automobile accident. She is cared for and viciously tormented by her sister Jane Hudson, once popular Vaudeville child star. Jane is particularly riled that Blanche still retains some popularity when her films are rerun on television. Won Oscar for Best Costume Design; received nominations for Best Actor and Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Sound.
