ABSTRACT Remake of Fun with Dick and Jane (1977). Dick Harper, loyal employee and newly-minted Vice President of Communications for media conglomerate Globodyne, appears on a talk show in which he and several coworkers are lambasted by Ralph Nader as "perverters of the American dream", leading to Globodyne's collapse and bankruptcy. Left without a source of income thanks to wife Jane's quitting her job to spend more time with their child, the newly-unhappy couple turn to a series of low-paying jobs; failing those, they turn to petty crime, ultimately working their way up the criminal ladder in ridiculous fashion as their thirst for a means to sustain their existence grows stronger.
