ABSTRACT Roy and Jessie, an idealistic American couple wrapping up a spell of volunteer work in China, decide to act on Roy's love of trains by taking the storied Trans-Siberian Express to Russia on their way home. Roy's fascination with trains gets the best of him when he disembarks during one leg of their journey to look at other trains and is left behind; Jessie meets fellow travelers Carlos and Abby as a result, kicking off a series of events placing the couple in the middle of a shocking ordeal involving murder, drug dealers, and vengeful local authorities.
