Landmark horror film, highly original for 1973 and still never equaled in its subject area. Won Oscars for Best Sound and Best Screenplay; nominated for 8 others including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, and Best Director. Soundtrack is Mike Oldfield's classic instrumental Tubular Bells.
