Three good fairies attend the christening of Princess Aurora, blessing her with beauty and song; a fairy not invited, Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil, curses the princess such that her demise will come when she will pricks her finger on a spinning wheel by her 16th birthday. To avert the curse, one of the fairies induces a deep sleep, where Aurora may only be awakened only by a kiss of true love. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Score.
