Fossil hunters in a remote part of the Amazon Basin find a specimen that has characteristics both human and fish. They travel upriver to the "Black Lagoon" finding there that the Gill Man still lives, and is decidedly rankled with the humans who want to capture it. Intelligent script, some underwater photography, regarded as a classic of the 1950s monster/horror genre.
