ABSTRACT Tommy Callahan, Jr., endearing imbecile and all-around bumbling fellow, graduates from college after seven years of schooling to a plum job at father "Big" Tom Callahan's car-parts factory in Ohio. Expecting to settle into reasonably easy work in the firm's brake-pad division, Tommy must instead become the company's unlikely savior when his dad drops dead, working to save the factory from a hostile takeover at the hands of scheming moneyed interests alongside Big Tom's old chief business associate.
