Straw Dogs (16-Sep-2011)

Director: Rod Lurie Writer: Rod Lurie From novel: The Siege of Trencher's Farm by Gordon Williams Music by: Larry Group Producer: Marc Frydman Keywords: Thriller A Hollywood couple's relocation to a backwoods town in the Deep South leads to a violent conflict with locals.
ABSTRACT Remake of Straw Dogs (1971). David Sumner, a successful Hollywood scriptwriter, decides to move to wife and actress Amy's hometown of Blackwater, Mississippi along with her so that he can finish a script and oversee the renovation of her recently-deceased father's house. Treating his new neighborhood with an air of condescension at first, the California couple are soon met with taunts and outright hostility at the hands of locals, a tension that soon blows up into a rape and murder-fueled all-out war.
