Loose film adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name follows a spiritual detective's investigation into his friend's mysterious disappearance.

ABSTRACT
Edward Carnby, private eye with a knack for all things paranormal, investigates an old friend from the orphanage they'd been raised in (and experimented on)'s disappearance when he vanishes after claiming that demons will soon bring chaos to Earth. Working alongside an ex-flame-cum-archaeologist, Carnby's research draws him into a battle against demons poised to invade the planet through a portal from Hell to the mortal world. An abject critical and commercial failure, Alone in the Dark cemented director/co-producer Uwe Boll's reputation as a creator of terrible video game-inspired movies.
