Film adaptation of an L. Ron Hubbard novel of the same name follows humanity's struggle for liberation from an alien race bent on their exploitation.

ABSTRACT
Earth as we know it sits in the clenched fist of the Psychlos, a band of power-hungry humanoid aliens, in the year 3000. Obsessed with financial gain, the Psychlos intend to strip Earth of its natural resources on their way through our Solar System, using hopelessly-mismatched humans as a means to an end. Standing in their way long after the last flickers of human resistance flamed out is Tyler, a scrappy young man hailing from what remains of the Rocky Mountains whose courage and refusal to respect his planet's alien overlords finds him spearheading one last crusade for freedom. Produced by evangelical Scientologist John Travolta as a vehicle for his religion, Battlefield Earth was a critical and commercial catastrophe, regularly appearing on "worst-ever" lists of films since its release.
