I Vitelloni (26-Aug-1953)|
Director: Federico Fellini
Writers: Federico Fellini; Ennio Flaiano; Tullio Pinelli
Five young men in a small Italian seaside town, presumably Fellini's birthplace Rimini, pursue lengthy periods as layabouts, avoiding all manner of responsibility. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Story and Screenplay. Won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Vitelloni translates literally to "fatted calves"; clearly influenced George Lucas's American Graffiti (1973).
