Dark Passage (5-Sep-1947)

Director: Delmer Daves Writer: Delmer Daves From novel by: David Goodis Music by: Franz Waxman Producer: Jerry Wald Keywords: Thriller, Film Noir, Unjustly Accused The sympathetic Irene Jansen befriends Vincent Parry, recent escapee from San Quentin, who is wrongfully accused of murdering his wife. After plastic surgery he is free to venture outside and prove his innocence. Unusually, Bogart's face is conspicuously not shown for the first half of the film. Filled with perhaps too many contrivances and coincidences; first major film for which plastic surgery is a major plot element.
