Officer Jon Baker on CHiPS |
REVIEWS Review by Fred Harris (posted on 29-Mar-2005) Was a pathetic remake of the original CHiPS. I did not need to see Poncherello with his not so attractive "ponch." The storyline was stupid. Ponch left the CHP then after 15 years comes back. Huh? I guess that is supposed to explain why Ponch is just an Officer, and Baker is now a Captain. That was a bit much. Baker should have been the new Sergeant, taking the place of the old Sgt. Getrrer (sp?). Ponch could have been on his shift as a Training Officer, training new recruits, or new motorcycle officers. That would have been a much more palatable storyline. And they should have not had Ponch come back to the job after 15 years. They both should have still been on the CHP, talking about and looking forward to retirement. Anyway, the show was a 1/2 star at best. I almost gave it no stars, but then again, it was good to see CHiPS again, even if this time it stunk to high heaven.
