Re-imagining of 1992's Bad Lieutenant follows a crooked New Orleans cop's battle with his vices and moral compass.

Re-imagining of Bad Lieutenant (1992). Terence McDonagh, New Orleans police sergeant working in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, rescues a prisoner who'd failed to be transferred, earning a promotion to Lieutenant and a back injury requiring a long-term Vicodin prescription for his hard work. An investigation into a drug-related slaughtering of a family six months later brings an embattled McDonagh on the scene, drawing him into a web of corruption and deceit with an uncertain end as the dangerous case comes to dominate his life.
