The son of the town doctor in a Cornish town, expelled from the Vienna Medical Academy for his questionable theories, performs experiments on some of the less fortunate townsfolk in a secret laboratory hidden in an abandoned mine. He paralyzes his subjects with curare and transplants their organs into presumably more-deserving cadavers, in a quest for eternal life. His love interest is the pretty Hazel Court, who already harbors suspicions.
