ABSTRACT
George Falconer, British-bred English professor at a Southern California college in 1962, is so distraught over the passing of same-sex partner Jim in a car accident nearly one year earlier that he decides to kill himself. A Single Man follows poor George, downtrodden and defeated, as he comes across and interacts with a number of compelling characters in the course of sorting out his suicide and post-death affairs, each individual serving to help him reconsider his decision to end his life in their own curious way.
