Biographical crime drama follows federal agents as they pursue high-profile bank robber John Dillinger in the early 1930s.

ABSTRACT
The scene: Chicago, 1933. Poverty and social unrest brought about by the Great Depression led to a sharp rise in organized crime in America's major cities, with bank robber John Dillinger standing out in notoriety above all of his contemporaries. Public Enemies is the semi-historical story of how J. Edgar Hoover's recently-formed Federal Bureau of Investigation sought to pacify the charismatic and cunning Dillinger and finish the work underfunded Chicago authorities had started.
