ABSTRACT
Mexico City, a metropolis as besieged by a variety of societal ills as it is massive, serves as the setting for this critically-acclaimed character piece following several previously unrelated lives brought together by calamity. Octavio, a troubled young man scrounging for cash to flee the blighted city for a better life with his sister-in-law, runs a red light after a clandestine dog-fighting operation falls through, causing a tragic accident ultimately bringing together happy couple Daniel and Valeria and homeless dog-lover El Chivo in a catastrophe dominated by the pursuit of love.
