ABSTRACT
The year is 2008 in an alternate-timeline United States of America. Twin nuclear attacks on Abilene and El Paso, Texas on Independence Day 2005 sent the once-mighty superpower headfirst into World War III and placed its citizens under a level of government surveillance far outstripping 2001's PATRIOT Act. Southland Tales follows the storylines of adult film star Krysta Now, police officer Ronald Taverner, and amnesia-stricken action hero Boxer Santaros, depicting their intertwined existences in a police-state hellscape with a measure of dark satire.
