ABSTRACT The United Kingdom's National Union of Mineworkers staged a historic strike in 1984, sent over the edge by Conservative prime minister Margaret Thatcher's anti-labor policies and statements. Eager to stand in solidarity with their put-upon brethren, London gay rights activists endeavor to raise money for the cause; rejected at first, they eventually decide to make an in-person donation in Wales, persevering to form a strong bond standing in united opposition to the Thatcher government.
