A boy from the countryside grows to become a prominent Spanish bullfighter. He marries his childhood sweetheart, but is easily manipulated by the wealthy widow Doņa Sol, played by Rita Hayworth. Starts slow but picks up nicely. Won Oscar for Best Cinematography, and received a nomination for Best Art Direction. Remake of Valentino's Blood and Sand (1922).
