REVIEWS Review by Robert Reade (posted on 4-May-2008)
I watched it on AMC. The sound was bad and the dialogue difficlult to follow. The movie was choppy and failed to identify the characters. Suddenly Oscar Homolka is a saboteur. Their theater business was poorly defined, and John Loder of Scotland Yard has an apple stand (I think) next door. Sorry about the boy dying, but even there the actions of Sylvia and Oscar Homolka didn't suggest genuine grief. Only thing good was that Sylvia Sidney acted well and conveyed her usual sense of sadness.
