A despised woman's death in a mysterious car crash makes every citizen of her rural New York town a suspect.

ABSTRACT
Mona Dearly, much-reviled citizen of the quiet upstate New York town of Verplanck, is found dead inside a yellow Yugo floating in a river. Verplanck chief of police Wyatt Rash's discovery that nearly every resident in his jurisdiction hated Mona and wanted her dead sparks an investigation encompassing the entire community, forcing the intrepid cop to interview and interrogate a Who's Who of offbeat locals as he works to solve the mystery behind her demise.
