A rough-and-tumble bouncer and black sheep of his family leads a beleaguered semi-professional hockey club to glory.

Labelled a lost cause by his accomplished family and upset with his dead-end job as a bouncer, Boston man Doug Glatt decides to join up with a minor-league hockey team as an enforcer -- a player tasked to act as his respective club's "tough guy" -- following a chance altercation with their opponents whilst in the stands at one of their games. Assigned to fill a void left by his new club's veteran enforcer's twenty-game suspension for a particularly vicious cheap shot, Glatt quickly finds himself becoming a fan favorite as he leads his team to success, attempting to use his status to find love along the way.
