ABSTRACT
Intended as a loose lighthearted film adaptation of Wu Cheng'en's Journey to the West, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons focuses on protagonist Tang Sanzang's life prior to his disciple-filled "Journey". Demons in various forms plague the Buddhist Sanzang's humble Chinese village, leading to a romantic episode with helpful demon hunter Miss Duan that would ultimately set him on a course towards his fateful encounter with the Monkey King.
