A seminary school dropout hired for a low-level intelligence desk job at the Defense Department learns of illegal operations conducted by the U.S. Government; he leaks information to the USSR with the help of a childhood friend, who is now a troubled drug smuggler. After some time, they begin selling the information to the KGB with motives that aren't based on ideology.
