The Christmas Candle (15-Nov-2013)
Director: John Stephenson Writers: Candace Lee; Eric Newman From novel by: Max Lucado Keywords: Drama, Christmas Film adaptation of a Max Lucado novel of the same name tells a faith-based tale of a candle possessing miracle-granting powers.
ABSTRACT In 19th-century England, a sleepy countryside village by the name of Gladbury plays host to a local legend -- named "the Christmas Candle" -- that dictates that a candle in the possession of the village candlemaker, when lit by a lucky recipient, will bestow a miracle upon the lighter thanks to the divine intervention of an angel who visits the area once every twenty-five years. When liberal young minister David Richmond arrives in the area with a wish to modernize the townsfolk at the dawn of the electric age, however, he must soon work to undo his unintentionally bad deed, aiming to preserve the integrity of the beloved candle before its powers depart the town for good.
