A middle-aged New Yorker happens upon an unexpected guest when he inherits his father's Paris apartment.

ABSTRACT
Ho-hum New Yorker Mathias Gold inherits an apartment in Paris following his estranged father's death. A routine trip to the city to sell the lucrative real estate for a hefty payday takes a turn towards the unexpected when Mathias discovers elderly woman Mathilda living there with daughter Chloe; a crash course in French "viager" apartment laws concerning Mathilde's pseudo-ownership of the property ensues as the full extent of her relationship with his deceased father is revealed.
