Traveling back to Japan over six decades after shielding a Japanese military officer from a nuclear blast, the Wolverine looks to reunite with his old acquaintance.

ABSTRACT
Haunted by memories of murdering Jean Grey during the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, Wolverine -- now living a life as a hermit in the Yukon -- is tracked down by Yuko, a mutant operating on behalf of a man he'd shielded from a nuclear blast nearly seventy years earlier named Yashida, and asked to come to Japan to visit his old friend. Acting on his acquaintance's wishes, he finds that Yashida has since become the CEO of a large tech corporation, further learning that he is dying of cancer and seeking to make a deal for Wolverine's very own immortality.
