Stalker (Aug-1979)
Original Title: Сталкер Director: Andrei Tarkovsky Writers: Arkadi Strugatsky; Boris Strugatsky; Andrei Tarkovsky From novel: Roadside Picnic by Arkadi Strugatsky and Boris Strugatsky Keywords: Sci-Fi, Wish The "Stalker" escorts two clients, a writer and a professor, through a quarantined forbidden Zone into a Room where one's innermost wish may be granted. A serious, beautiful but difficult film and while it is science fiction, it is the sort of introspective SF produced by the Soviet Union largely unfamiliar to Western audiences. Won the Ecumenical Jury Prize at Cannes. During production, an entire year of effort was lost from systemic errors in film processing.
