Adapted from disgraced Wall Street fixture Jordan Belfort's memoir of the same name, The Wolf of Wall Street follows a fictionalized version of Belfort as he enjoys a meteoric rise to "powerbroker" status in Manhattan's financial district -- and all the expected perks that come with it -- until "pump and dump"-style stock market corruption leads to his downfall at the hands of federal regulators hungry for blood. Nominated for Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
