ABSTRACT
Jay Moriarity, a renowned soul surfer who enjoyed a brief and decorated career in his sport until a diving accident in the Maldives took his life at the age of twenty-two, rules the day in Chasing Mavericks, a biopic following a young boy from Santa Cruz as an obsession with learning how to surf and taking on a notorious swell in his area known as "Mavericks" ultimately carries him to international notoriety.
