Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (20-May-1983)
Director: Lamont Johnson Writers: Len Blum; Daniel Goldberg; Stewart Harding; Jean LaFleur; David Preston; Edith Rey Keywords: Sci-Fi, 3D
REVIEWS Review by Simon David Reed (posted on 7-Aug-2009) A wierd future on a bio-plagued planet (off limits to Earthers) run by The Chemist and "Overdog" -- a huge reward rescue mission tempts our hero to the planet, where any pretty female (perfect, no scars?, overdog enquires) has their life force scoped out of them, into Overdog, by the chemist. Molly is an orphan young survivor of the original explorers and has fortunately not mutated in the harsh environment; she offers to 'track' for our hero, for 'nibbles' and a share of the reward. Well worth a look for the plot is good, the effects are great for its time (not Blade Runner, though) the alternate, energy starved society is explored by novel ideas that we may come to yet!
