Desperate residents of an apartment building slated for destruction at the hands of a greedy real estate developer receive assistance from helpful miniature mechanical aliens. Among the holdout residents are a retired boxer and an elderly couple who struggle to run a restaurant in the building. Sentimental and predictable, yet somehow still delightful. Produced by Steven Spielberg's company, which played a large part in the pre-animation era special effects.
