REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 9-Aug-2006) A few less-discerning critics stated
that in this film, William Holden reprised his role from The Wild
Bunch, but nothing could be less correct. In the Wild Bunch, Holden was
a vicious killer, a bitter and ruthless man. In the Wild Rovers, he is
an aging, good-natured cowpoke who decides to enrich his lifestyle by
robbing a bank, aided by his young protege, played by Ryan O'Neal. The
two are pursued by the sons of a tough old rancher (Karl Malden). This
is an enjoyable movie, well-acted, beautifully filmed, and with an
engaging musical score.
