CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 13-Oct-2006) In a time when Hollywood was giving us monsters made out of Jello and flying saucers were really hubcaps suspended by fishing line, Tony Randall, Jeffery Hunter, Pat Hingle, Joanne Woodward and many more gave us an incredibly mature, realistic and believable peek behind the curtain of 'perfect' California suburbia. Jobs, marriages, kids, ambition, money, racism, insecurities, personal demons, sex and many other story elements were skillfully blended into a script of characters that you could easily identify with and care about. Change the cars and a few other elements, and suddenly you are watching a story that could have been filmed about modern life yesterday--it is that good and that relevant. If you see this film scheduled on one of the cable channels, pop some corn, get comfortable, sit back and enjoy what movies used to be--great stories about interesting people rather than megabuck special effects and car chases!
