Psychological thriller dramatizes Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud's hand in the birth of modern psychoanalysis.
Sabrina Spielrein, a young European woman suffering from "hysteria", arrives at Burgholzli, the University of Zurich's psychiatric hospital, to begin a course of treatment with an up-and-coming Swiss doctor by the name of Carl Jung. From there, viewers are subjected to a graphic portrayal of Jung's controversial tactics as the patient and married doctor generally become lovers, depicting a dramatized account of how Jung came to take his place as a controversial father of modern psychoanalysis.
